What is breathwork?

A continuous, mouth-based connected, cyclical breathing pattern that gently activates the body’s natural release processes. It is a practice that is over 5,000 years old, designed to shut down your mind and allow your body and nervous system to feel emotions that may have been trapped or blocked in the past.

It supports nervous system regulation, improved circulation, and overall physical ease.

It can be deep work, a lot of emotions can come up.

Western life is designed to keep us in our minds; we rationalise, we think and we process. Conscious Connected Breathwork is a practice that allows you to not think and to just feel. Rich will guide you through, keep you safe and ensure you have space to release your emotions.

Rich will be there to guide you through and invite you to feel whatever is locked up.

What will happen to me?

Mentally 🧠

The mind often gets very loud in the first 5–10 minutes. This is normal, just focus on the breathe. This practice is designed to shut off the mind so this is to be expected. Unless you panic, keep going with the pattern. After the first retention, it will quieten, just focus on the breathing pattern.

Physically 🫁

You can experience pins and needles, get tingling in your arms and legs, tightness in your jaw, hands or feet. Allow your body to move as it needs. If it becomes intense, slow your breathing and stay in the pattern. During or afterwards, you could go hot or cold, your mouth may go dry.

Emotionally ❤️

This can be deep work, and large emotional reactions are possible. Rich is trauma-informed and will be on hand to guide you through. The grounding exercise after the release will enable you to come around gently. If emotions come, put sound to it, let your body move as it needs to, allow yourself to take up space.

Who is Rich?

I help people understand and work with their emotions in a way that actually feels practical by using breath, the body, and grounded conversation, without the fluff or jargon.

Curious by nature and quietly sceptical, I sit somewhere between evidence and experience; bringing a down-to-earth approach to work that can often feel out of reach or overly abstract.

I came to this work in 2024 after discovering Breathwork following years of anxiety, low mood, and a real lack of self-compassion. On the surface, things functioned, but underneath, I was disconnected from how I actually felt. Breathwork helped me change that, and in turn changed how I show up as a friend, partner, and dad.

Before this, I spent over 20 years in corporate environments, navigating life as someone neurodivergent without fully understanding it. That journey wasn’t linear; it ranged from using alcohol to feel more socially at ease, struggling in relationships, to even trying stand-up comedy as a way to access something I couldn’t quite reach directly. For a long time, stories were the only place I could feel my emotions. Now, I help people connect to their own.

My work brings together conversation, breath, and body awareness to help you understand what’s going on beneath the surface and more importantly, how to move forward with it.

Group Breathwork

Each 90-minute group session, held either online or in person, will offer a safe, supportive space for inner child and emotional release work, whether through general exploration or specific themes such as grief or anxiety. You’ll be invited (never required) to reflect on gentle prompts beforehand and share as much or as little as feels right, before being guided into a focused 30 minute Breathwork journey, with time to land, integrate, and return at your own pace.

1:1 Breathwork

Your 1:1 journey includes two sessions: Firstly a 30-40-minute consultation to explore safety, walk through the process, and gently shape your intentions, followed by a 50-minute guided Breathwork session designed to support release, integration, and a return to yourself at your own pace.

Current Offerings

School and volunteer group sessions

Workshops for schools and community groups offer a supportive, age-appropriate space to explore emotions, regulation, and wellbeing. Designed for children, parents, or mixed groups, these sessions gently build understanding of how emotions show up in the body and influence thoughts, behaviours, and relationships while focusing on practical, empowering ways individuals can support themselves with greater awareness and care.

Corporate wellbeing sessions

Corporate sessions (60 or 90 minutes) are tailored in collaboration with your organisation to meet your specific wellbeing goals. I offer a grounded, practical exploration of how mental health and physical health are deeply connected or Neurodivergent awareness and understanding for the workplace. Through engaging discussion and experiential exercises, we explore how stress shows up in the body and introduce a range of accessible tools from reflective conversation to subtle somatic practices giving your team approaches they can carry into everyday work and life.
